As a professional Wedding Officiant in London, Ontario, I believe that your wedding should be carefully crafted with sentiment, meaning, and a little bit of laughter. My style is unique to each couple, their guests, and their love story, with no two weddings ever the same.
Perhaps you've heard of me? I have been actively involved in the wedding & events industry in London, Ontario for well over a decade. I am a highly respected DJ known as DJ Alpha, and I am the owner of The Alpha DJ Company.
In addition to my active DJing career, I decided to become a wedding officiant in 2017 to further my passion for the industry. Watching other officiants conduct ceremonies always fascinated me, and although most of the ceremonies are usually brief, the words spoken by the officiant remain etched in the couple's minds forever. I always dreamed of being a part of this honor - to play an integral role in the couple's narrative by giving their union a deeper meaning. It would be an absolute honor for me to have my signature alongside theirs on the document that solemnly declares, "This is the day we got married!"
ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF.
Looking for something short and sweet or do you prefer a full feature production? Whatever your preferences are, we work together to customize a ceremony that is truly and uniquely yours.
A ceremony, regardless of its length, should be personal to the couple and should tell the story of what brought you to this exciting new chapter of your relationship - why not have a little fun with this part, since it's the pinnacle moment of the entire day!
A service offered to those who prefer to celebrate privately, I would be honoured to be your plus one to an intimate elopement.
Not only can we create a magical ceremony for just the two of you, we can also plan it to take place where ever love takes you! Want to elope on a beach? Maybe a mountain top? It would be my honour to accompany you on this exciting adventure!
Ever notice how romantic comedies never show the signing of official paperwork during the ceremonies? That's because it's the least romantic part - but also the most important - it's what makes it officially official!
Many couples choose to sign their marriage license, with witness, ahead of the ceremony. We can work with your Wedding Planner + Photographer's timeline to make an intimate license signing possible.
Celebrating a milestone anniversary? Perhaps the pandemic forced you to postpone the celebration, but you went ahead and became legally married over the last 2 years, and now you want to celebrate the way you originally intended to?
I would be happy to customize a romantic vow renewal for your wedding day - with this option, we get to skip to the good part, since the legal paperwork is already handled.
"He is the perfect mix of family-friendly and hilarious; able to be serious and emotional whilst also light-hearted and poke fun."
There are a million details and logistics to consider when planning a wedding. The ceremony is arguably the most important and impactful moment of the entire day, and it also has the heaviest decisions to make. Will it be sentimental? Will it be short and sweet? Do you want to mix in special moments, readings, honour loved ones? I will guide you through each of these decisions and customize a ceremony that is entirely unique and a reflection of you as a couple. My officiant services are all inclusive and all-encompassing for everything you need for the perfect ceremony. BONUS - As a professional DJ, I can also give you the best recommendations for songs too! Here is what you can expect:
The ceremony is the perfect time to showcase your love, and I believe it should be a reflection of you as a couple. Let's really shine here, let's show your guests why this is a once in a life-time love that they are witnessing!
Maybe we infuse a few jokes? Perhaps we throw in a reading or two? Maybe your vows are creative, outside the box, and full of funny one liners? There are no rules here! ... well, that's not actually true, there are some very specific rules we must follow via the Province of Ontario, but we can talk about that later...
In order for this whole thing to be legit through the Province of Ontario's eyes, we need to get some paperwork signed first. I will guide you through what you need to obtain, when you need to get it, and what to do with it once you've got it. I promise it is a painless exercise, as long as you are over 18, have all your government issued ID intact, and you are able to pop by City Hall to grab your license at some point before the big day.
Here is where I get to brag about being an awesome DJ and owning London's best DJ company... As a professional DJ, you already know I'm not about to let your ceremony sound anything less than perfect. I will coordinate the audio with your DJ (even if it's not from my team) and I even bring my own mic to ensure your ceremony is amplified to every guest - even the late comers that squeezed in at the back.
I've seen a lot of weddings in my time - as the DJ and as an Officiant - which means I have the magic recipe for the perfect wedding ceremony. Not too long, not too short, just the right mix of appropriate humor and a giant showering of love are just the tip of the iceberg. But what about song selection? A seamless processional, and where on earth does everyone sit these days? I'm here to guide you through all of that and then some... don't worry, I won't guide you blindly (though you should probably know now that I am colourblind, so maybe don't ask for advice about colour matching the bridesmaid dresses to the flowers?)
"He really got to know us and made our ceremony so much more personal than we expected with exactly the tone we were hoping for. He wrote beautiful, light hearted vows for us that had everyone in tears."

You didn't think I'd pass up the opportunity to apply for every available position within the wedding, did you? Well, not every position because again, the colour blind thing, but I do always like to remind my couples that I am also a really awesome (like seriously awesome) DJ and as a Toastmaster member, I really thrive as an MC. Learn more about what I can do to bring your wedding to the next level of entertaining.
Your MC can make or break your wedding reception. Seriously. I have watched from behind the DJ booth one too many MC's that were friends of the couple that derailed the timeline and lost the audience. This can often be a costly mistake for guest enjoyment and for vendor overtime.
Being an MC requires the perfect mix of sincerity, entertainment, and efficiency to keep guests happy, the food served hot, and your Wedding Planner very happy. Not only will I keep to the script, but I will also make sure your guests are dancing the night away after a wonderful dinner that was mildly entertaining.
I told you I'm a really awesome DJ, right? Let me tell you a little more about that... you know, in case you've got this far down the website without realizing it...
My passion for DJing began in 2001 and I have turned it into a career that I am proud of. From humble beginnings as an intern at a record store, to bars, nightclubs and house parties, to public and private events, concerts, festivals and weddings, I took every opportunity possible to craft my skills.
I bring the same approach to all my performances; “do it with passion or not at all”. But don't worry, I bring an assistant for your ceremony - I can do a lot, but I can't do it all!
"As our officiant, Dave was very professional and really tailored our ceremony uniquely to us. As our DJ, Dave kept the room dancing all night which is exactly what we wanted"
